Attend a basic SKYWARN training course at least once a year. If there is advanced training available, we encourage you to take it.
Read and follow the instructions in the Hancock Co. SKYWARN Operations Manual.

If you are interested in serving as a Net Control Station for Hancock SKYWARN, we want to hear from you! Please email admin@n1of.com or w8kjr@yahoo.com for more information. Anyone can be a Net Control Station! Please make sure you are familiar with the Hancock County SKYWARN Manual and Net Control Scripts. No formal training is required or necessary.
There is no registration required, we just ask to hear from you so we can keep you in touch with our other Net Control Stations, and so we can know who to contact when Severe Weather may threaten our area.
SKYWARN Nets can be found on the W8FT repeater in Findlay, Ohio.

Coverage is available county-wide, but an external or mobile antenna is recommended outside of Findlay City Limits.
Primary: W8FT 2 Meter Repeater, 147.150+, PL 88.5
Secondary: W8FT 440 Repeater, 444.150+ PL 88.5 (This repeater is Analog/Fusion, expect occasional static bursts on non-Fusion radios)
Tertiary: 147.510 Simplex
During long-term events, other options may be utilized, such as portable cross-band repeaters. Your NCS will advise where to go if these are needed.
